Turkana women collecting water

Turkana women collecting water from the Turkwel River. I presume that the photo was taken near Kaputir in the southernmost part of Turkana territory, close to the Pokot. As in most African cultures, the arduous task of fetching water is the work of women and girls. Depending on the rains, this sometimes means having to walk a whole day, or almost 50km.
